Cutoff

Submit by 12:00 PM for same-day shipping.

🖼️ Artwork

300 DPI at final size, transparent background, do not mirror.

🔥 Pressing

Start around 300–325°F for 10–15s, medium/firm pressure.

Quick Rules

  • Do I mirror my art? No — standard orientation.
  • Best file type? PNG or Vector with transparency.
  • Pickup available? No — shipping only.
  • Second press? Yes, 5–8s with a cover sheet.
🌴 Pro tip: Pre-press garments for 2–3s to remove moisture and flatten fibers.

Ordering

What is the fastest way to get my order into production?

Upload a print-ready file that is completely finalized and sized to your exact output requirements. Clean, ready-to-print files bypass manual review and jump straight to the presses.

Do you offer local pickup?

No, DTFMIA is strictly shipping-only. This allows us to maintain rapid production speeds and strict cutoff times for all customers across the country.

Artwork & Files

What are the exact file requirements?
  • Format: High-resolution PNG or Vector formats.
  • Background: Must be 100% transparent.
  • Resolution: 300 DPI at the final physical print size.
  • Orientation: Upload normally. Do not mirror your artwork (we handle this).
How should I size my artwork?

Always build and upload your design at the final physical size you want it printed (e.g., 10 inches wide). Upscaling a tiny low-resolution image to 300 DPI will result in a blurry or pixelated transfer.

Can I print very small text or ultra-thin lines?

While our printers can capture extreme detail, hairline strokes and tiny text lack enough surface area for the adhesive powder to bond strongly to the shirt. For maximum durability, keep text bold and avoid ultra-thin design elements.

Shipping

What is your same-day shipping cutoff?

DTF orders ship the same day if submitted by 12:00 PM (Noon). We process these lightning-fast with absolutely no extra rush charges.

Pressing

Press cheat code: Pre-press 2–3s → Main press → Peel → Finish press 5–8s with cover sheet.
What are the standard heat press settings?

Start around 300–325°F for 10–15 seconds with medium to firm pressure. Every heat press and fabric is slightly different, so we strongly advise doing a test press on a scrap version of your blank garment first.

Should I do a warm peel or a cool peel?

Our film is generally hot/warm peel compatible. If you peel and notice fine edges trying to lift, stop immediately, let the transfer cool down completely to room temperature, and peel slowly.

Is a second "finish" press really required?

Highly recommended. A final press for 5–8 seconds using a Teflon or parchment cover sheet forces the ink deeper into the fibers, increasing wash durability and softening the texture.

Wash & Care

How do I wash DTF printed garments?

Wait at least 24 hours before the first wash to allow the adhesive to fully cure. Always wash the garment inside out in cold or warm water. Tumble dry on low heat or hang dry. Never use high heat drying.

Troubleshooting

The edges are lifting when I peel the film.

Lay the film back down. Ensure your pressure is firm, increase your press time by 3-5 seconds, and let the transfer cool entirely before attempting to peel again. Also ensure you are pre-pressing to eliminate fabric moisture.

My transfer didn’t stick to the shirt at all.

This is almost always a lack of pressure or an inaccurate heat press temperature. Increase your pressure significantly—DTF requires heavy, even pressure to melt the powder into the fibers.

The design looks shiny or I have a box mark around it.

If the print is too shiny, ensure you are using a matte parchment or kraft paper cover sheet on your finish press. A box mark is a "press mark" on the fabric itself; lowering temperature slightly and using a quick pre-press can help prevent scorching the dye.

Colors look duller on the shirt than on my computer screen.

Monitors are backlit and show RGB colors, which are inherently brighter than CMYK printed inks on fabric. Ensuring your original file is high resolution and appropriately saturated will yield the best physical print.
